Fittingly, I took this shot tonight which happens to be the darkest day of the year, the Winter Solstice. I was walking my dog in my neighborhood and found this graffiti under a light pole on a relatively new street. Just a few years ago this was a big open field.

Someone's desk.
Around 4 am in a NYC subway a few years ago, I saw and heard this woman doing a very moving version of U2's One. I remember hearing her sing across the tracks and noticing the unique sound of a voice and guitar in that environment - the reverberation sounded otherworldly, ghost-like. As the approaching train came, she began to fade into the oncoming noise until I couldn't hear her at all, yet I could still see her playing until the train pulled up and she disappeared completely. It was an amazing experience.
